  15. Two new optional auxillary headers have been added to comp.sources.games
  16. postings.  The first one "Patch-To:" lists a volume and issue number that
  17. a posted patch applies to.  This can provide extra help for automatic
  18. archivers to ensure that the patch gets archived with the original
  19. source (for archive sites that save files by vol/issue).  The format of
  20. the "Patch-To:" line is:

  22.     Patch-To: Volume v, Issue i
  23. or
  24.     Patch-To: Volume v, Issue i-j
  25.  
  26. The second optional header is "Superseeds:".  This is used when posting
  27. an updated version of a program that was previously posted.  The format
  28. of the "Superseeds:" line is:

  30.     Superseeds: archive-name; Volume n, Issue i
  31. or
  32.     Superseeds: archive-name; Volume n, Issue i-j
  33.  
  34. The Superseeds entry is helpful for cleaning archives by providing a
  35. pointer to previous versions that (may) be deleted from the archive.

  43. P.S. Another change that should not affect anyone is that news postings
  44. are now made from my Sun worstation, rather than the Vax, so some of
  45. the news headers will have "saab.CNA.TEK.COM" instead of "tekred.CNA.TEK.COM".
  46. In addition, the sender field will say "nobody@tekred.CNA.TEK.COM".
